• Finally we will transfer back to Arusha to experience the cultural heritage center and relaxation before your flight home.

DAY ONE: TRAVEL DAY
Meet at Arusha/Kilimanjaro arrival point and transfer to accommodation in Arusha town.  Pre-volunteer briefing.

DAY TWO : ARUSHA
Town orientation, cultural introductions, simple Swahili and general ‘housekeeping’.

DAY THREE: LE MANYATTA
Transfer to Le Manyatta with introductions to teachers, students and villagers (mainly elder council).  Orientation of the school and surrounding areas.  Return to Arusha for overnight.

DAYS 4 - 5: LE MANYATTA
Teacher placement at a nursery or primary school.

DAY SIX: TARANGIRE
After a leisurely breakfast, transfer into the heart of the Maasailands of Tarangire. This park is famed for its massive elephant herds, true sense of wilderness and back drop of baobabs. Staying the southern areas of the park allows you to explore the Silalei Plain and Swamp area, home to incredible species and wildlife viewing opportunities.

DAY SEVEN: TARANGIRE
Early morning game driving and exploration in Tarangire.  The habitat variations here allow you to enjoy game drives unlike other parks. Transfer into the Crater Highlands for overnight.

DAY EIGHT: CRATER HIGHLANDS
A more leisurely day with a morning walking safari through the coffee plantation of the crater highlands.  Learn about the growth, production and processing of the Arabica style beans. Afternoon, at your own leisure; enjoy the swimming pool, stables, billiard tables or a cinema style TV room.

DAY NINE: NGORONGORO
Morning transfer to Ngorongoro Crater.  Ngorongoro is a collapsed volcano - an incredible natural amphitheater, 25 km wide and teeming with all of the African big game. Early morning descent into the crater for spectacular scenery and game viewing in what has been described as the eighth wonder of the world. Return to Crater rim for overnight.

DAY TEN: LAKE MASEK
Drive to Ndutu! Lunch en route at Olduvai Gorge and view the archaeological sites (and visit the museum) where early human tools and fossils have been found. Continue to enter into the southern Serengeti plains and explore the soda lake areas of Ndutu and Masek. These areas are incredibly interesting with wildlife species (including birdlife) and landscape that encourages images of the ‘Land Before Time’.

DAY ELEVEN: LAKE MASEK
Early morning game driving to discover the diurnal behaviors of the resident and migratory species.  Return to the lodge for lunch and rest.  Optional afternoon game driving or stay at the camp to prepare for tomorrow’s adventures. This area is particularly interesting for photographers.

DAY TWELVE: SERENGETI
Transfer through to the Serengeti.  Afternoon game drive in the rolling grasslands.  Crisscrossed with forested riverine valleys, the Serengeti provides a home to millions of Africa’s large mammals, making this one of the world’s most famous wildlife destinations.

DAY THIRTEEN: SERENGETI
All day game drive in the Serengeti. Best time for the wildebeest migration is December through June, but there are spectacular wildlife sights at any time of year.

DAY FOURTEEN: SERENGETI
Continue our exploration of this stunning landscape and all the life that it holds.  This is the day to enjoy an early morning hot air balloon safari and afterwards a champagne breakfast on the Serengeti plains. (Additional cost applies)

DAY FIFTEEN: ARUSHA & BEYOND…
Early morning game drive to airstrip for charter flight back to Arusha.  Here you will be met and taken to lunch at Arusha Coffee Lodge and checked in to your day room before enjoying some time on a shopping safari at the Cultural Heritage Centre.   This will give you the opportunity to peruse the vast array of crafts available for purchase.  Afterwards, you will be taken back to your day room for packing, freshening up and an early dinner. Farewell to Arusha as we transfer you onto your evening departure from Kilimanjaro airport.
